The Proposal
Lewknor Solar Farm will comprise solar panels mounted on racks and arranged in rows running along a North/South axis. The top of the panels will be approximately 3.1 m off the ground. Following the path of the sun throughout the day the panels will slowly rotate, facing east in the morning and west in the evening.
- Supply power directly into the grid, with an export capacity of up to 49.9Mw (megawatts).
- Potential to generate enough electricity to meet the demands of approximately 16,500 homes. *
- Offer a community benefit package that will be shaped by local people.
- Offset 13,000 tonnes of carbon per year. **
- Contribute to meeting the UK Government’s ‘net zero by 2050’ target.
